Electric Violin Performance
by Laura Giannini
Laura Giannini, an Italian violinist, recording artist, and music educator based in New York City, began her career at age 19 when she was selected by violinist Uto Ughi to perform with his Festival Omaggio a Roma Orchestra as a featured soloist in the Vivaldi Concerto RV 581 in C Major.
An award winner in duo and piano trio competitions throughout Europe, Laura collaborated there with Accademia dei Cameristi, A.Gi.Mus. Roma, Musica a Piazza Navona, and Deutscher Tonkünstlerverband, among others. Her playing was featured in the Ensemble Mediterranée’s world-premiere recording of Raffaele Gervasio’s compositions in a CD produced by DAD Records and on Deutschland Radio Kultur during the Kammerensemble Nordwind live broadcast of Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire, as well as more recently on the WVOX radio in a musical interview about South-Italian composers.

KURAMOTO ICE
Originally founded in 1923 as Kuramoto General Store, Kuramoto Ice was established during the third generation of family ownership, when we decided to focus solely on manufacturing high-quality ice for restaurants and bars. Since then, our company has embraced customer feedback, continuously adjusted our products to satisfy our customers’ needs, and developed exquisite and highly functional ice.
What's special about KURAMOTO ICE?
Kuramoto Ice Company excels in clear ice manufacturing and processing technology. Junpyo (“pure ice” in Japanese) refers to ice that is made by slowly freezing drinking water at around 14° Fahrenheit while agitating it for over 48 hours in a hygiene-controlled facility. It is characterized by its high transparency, hardness and slow melting properties. Water’s pure components freeze first, therefore by slowly freezing our water, we create an environment where impurities such as minerals are not captured in the finished ice. Furthermore, extended agitating eliminates micro air bubbles in the ice, resulting in exceptional clarity. This is how our ultra-clear and highly dense ice is made. By spending extra time and effort, we produce beautiful ultra-pure luxury ice with nearly zero impurities. Our slow-melting ice retains the original flavor of your drink without diluting it. Our clear ice contains close to zero microorganisms.
Keki
Keki's famous bouncy cheesecakes are light and silky in texture and melt in your mouth!
Lines went out the door of Keki’s tiny Chinatown storefront the week the bakery opened—all for a taste and perhaps a glimpse of the jiggly sensation that has taken social media by storm. Opened by Lawrence Wai with Per Se and Nobu alum Kevin Kim as executive chef, Keki turns out fresh cheese cakes, tarts and sponge cakes every 20 minutes (the store’s aroma is incredible!). Inspired by traditional Japanese and Taiwanese desserts, Keki's cakes have a subtle sweetness, using only half the amount of sugar than regular cheesecakes. While their bouncy cheesecake has taken the internet by storm, their fancy NY-style cheesecakes are some of the best we've ever had.
Keki's famous bouncy is not your typical cheesecake. It's soft, airy and fluffy, while still giving you that familiar tangy flavor and silky, creamy finish. It's something your fork will keep reaching for. And if that hasn't gotten your tastebuds going, look up a jiggly cheesecake video. You’ll see what we mean.

Meanwhile, she has been cooking Japanese food everyday, and it was helped heal her mind. She realized how important it is to focus on “what we eat” in order to live a healthy life.
